Srilanka in T20 Finals

Srilanka has entered the world cup T20 finals in a stylish way. In the second semi – final held yesterday srilanka played against West Indies. Batted first the Srilankan players thrashed a score of 158 for 5 in 20 overs. Especially the opening partnership of Tilakaratne Dilshan and Sanath Jayasurya. Dilshan has exploded a score of unbeaten 96 in 57 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes in it. Bravo has taken 2 wickets for 32 runs in his 3 overs. Taylor, Benn and Pollard took one wicket each.

The starting of West Indies was in trouble. Angelo Mathews struck thrice in his first over. Taking the wickets of Marshall, Simmons and Bravo he couldn't believe his eyes with stumps shattering for all three wickets. Except Chris Gayle all other players had score in single digit and laid the way for victory of srilankans. Srilankan's batting, bowling and fielding are up to the mark yesterday. Angelo Mathews and muralitharan took 3 wickets and udana, malinga took one wicket each. Dishan was named as man of the match for his unbeaten 96.

The Srilankans are taking off against Pakistan in final tomorrow. To remember the Pakistani's had entered the finals in last T20 world cup also. Asian countries are successively dominating T20 Cricket for the second time. Both the teams are tough sides and the final will be hotter and unpredictable than the previous games.

M & M Frustrates India

India's batting order once again collapsed by the spin attack of Ajantha mendis and muthaih muralitharan. Formerly India opted to bat and the 1^st innings batting of India has been totally deformed by mendis taking 5 wickets in 1^st innings. Still the Indian players don't know how to play his bowling. And one of the strongest batting lineup in spin bowling fails second time in this tour. The M&M combination once again repeats their success for the 3^rd time. The only thing India would be thinking is the way to handle Mendis because he terribly attacks Indian players. His change in middle finger is getting the wickets for srilanka. Sachin Tendulkar who has just looked to cross the highest runs in test by Brian Lara in this series misses out the record and he has to wait for the next series to compete the record. Totally this series has been dominated by muthiah muralitharan and Ajantha mendis. Lets check out whether they try to defend both in the ODI series at least.

Hurray…. Finally India bagged a gold medal in Olympics 2008. The gold medal was grabbed by India in 10m rifle shooting by Abinav Bindra. I so happy regarding this aspect because India had never won a gold medal in individual events. So far India has got gold medal in hockey only. Olympics 2008 kicks off at Beijing

Olympics 2008 has been started yesterday with a colorful opening ceremony held at Bird's nest in Beijing. The ceremony was pretty colorful with lot of fireworks used in the opening ceremony. The Olympic torch finally carried by the Chinese gymnastic Li Ning. The opening ceremony started at August 8^th at 8 pm 8 sec. this date was chosen since this type of arrangement will come on next 3008^th year only. Indian team is lead by the silver medalist Rajyavarathan Singh Rathore since the only person to grab a medal for India in 2004 Olympics. This time India has sent a full fledged team to capture as many medals as possible. But until there is politics is in the sports department India will never get into the world ranking list. Lets see what happens for the next three weeks.

Team Sports

Body fitness is a necessary thing for any person and to keep their body fit, there are two ways of maintaining our body. One is the routine exercise and other is playing any game. Routine exercise is something that has been done by persons who don't find time to play. If we take on sports side, our routine exercise comes with our daily practice. There are two kinds of games in sports. One is indoor games and other outdoor games. In indoor games, only a few games are body oriented and many are mind oriented and if we take on out door games, there also two kinds of games, one with single person playing and other is team sports.

In team sports there will be many persons participating and the victory or defeat, the fame will go to the entire team and major games I liked are baseball and cricket and I'm a left arm fast bowler in my college. And of course there are many advantages in team sports. Even if a person in a team makes a mistake, that mistake can be corrected during the progress of play, and we can be get noticed in few days itself if we use the chance correctly.

England wins in Style

Wow…what a way to win the NatWest series against Newzealand. England team are already in a commanding position by winning the second test against the kiwis. The kiwis started off well by taking 5 quick wickets in two sessions and England are at a great trouble at that time. Just then Kevin Peterson arrived and took England to a score of 367. The kiwis batted second and they are shattered by the bowling attack of James Anderson and he really collapsed Newzealand top order taking 7 wickets in style successively. The kiwis are all out for 123 and they need to follow on the score and started off their 2^nd innings. This time, its Sidebottom's turn. For his part he shattered the kiwi top order by taking 6 wickets in succession. What a way to win the series. The kiwis are once in a commanding position and after that they never got up. And James Anderson was named as man of the match for his 9 wickets in this match.

Euro 2008 begins today

Euro Cup begins today at Switzerland. Foot ball is always been an entertaining game in European countries and today it has brought into another exciting stuff of the year, EURO CUP 2008. Today the tournament starts with a grant opening ceremony and in the opening match Switzerland battles with Czech Republic. Many countries are in the leading race and I feel there will be tough competition between the world cup winner Italy and the world cup runner-up France. The main thing I liked in Italy team is their goal keeper Gianluigi Buffon because he is the main reason for the Italy team to win the world cup and his tactics made them as the defending champion. Last time I remember that only one goal has been shot by the opposing team against Italy in the overall tournament and that goal is also through penalty corner only. That much he had worked on the game and I hope this time France will bounce back for their defeat in world cup. Lets see what happens and I am excitingly awaiting for the Euro Cup 2008.

Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh Back in ODI Squad

After their stupendous performance in DLF Indian Premier League Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh gets their place back in Australian ODI squad. Shane Watson has been off the Australian team for the past 18 months and his consistent injuries also made him unfit for the game. Now after his cracking performance in DLF league he gets his position back in the squad. He played for Rajasthan Royals under the captainship of Shane Warne and scored 472 runs and took 17 wickets and was rightly judged as the player of the tournament. This earned him a place for the Australian ODI squad for the five match ODI series against West Indies, as the replacement of Australian Opener Mathew Hayden who is suffering from an Achilles tendon injury. Along with him the Punjab opener Shaun Marsh got a place in the squad after his brilliant performance in IPL.

Mohammed Asif Withheld at Dubai Airport

The Pakistani Pacemen Mohammed Asif was arrested at Dubai airport for having contraband drugs in his luggage. Asif was the leading young paceman in the Pakistani side and was currently playing for Delhi daredevils team. Recently IPL matches got over and Mohammed Asif with his teammate kamran Akmal were returning to Pakistan from Mumbai via Dubai. There he was arrested for having opium drug and was put under charge for 36 hours.

He was the leading paceman and he was in the recently announced squad for the tri nation series. Asif has already having charges of using nandrolone drug in 2006. If the case on him is found to be true there are chances for him to be arrested for 4 to 10 years. Already Pakistani Fast Bowler Shoaib Akthar has charges of using drugs and has banned for some matches. And this is the 3^rd time a Pakistani bowler was charged under act.

The league matches are held between Chennai, rajasthan, Punjab, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkatta, Bangalore and Mumbai.

Bangalore and Hyderabad being the highest paid teams in the tournament and the team was auctioned for us$ 112 billions and Rajasthan being the lowest paid team and it had been auctioned for us$66 billions.

In the semi Finals Chennai, Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi played and in finals Chennai and rajasthan entered. Rajasthan team being little stronger than Chennai in all fields has clinched a thrilling victory in the last ball of the match. The Indian Premier League has been entertaining for the past two months in india and since it's a summer vacation many liked to watch the game.
